Karma Yangzom, a Horticulture officer at the Agriculture Research and Development Centre (ARDC) in Wengkhar, Mongar, explains how Hydroponics works to excited students from Gyalpozhing School.

The centre is working to encourage farmers in the east to take up hydroponics technology.

Tshering Wangdi is part of a youth start-up based in Mongar. The start-up aims to produce low-cost planters made from upcycled waste.

“ We are excited to share our eco-friendly approach in this exhibition.”
Tshering Wangdi said.

Since 2015, The Ministry of Agriculture and Forests has had the privilege of fulfilling His Majesty’s Royal Command to hold an annual Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, as an event of national importance tied to our vision of transforming where we live into clean, safe, well-organized and beautiful places. As His Majesty has said, this too is nation building.

Metho Pema is one of 13 De-suups who is trained in floriculture in the De-suung Skilling Programme (DSP) at Lingmithang. Metho Pema and her cohort are proud to be participants of the 7th RBFE.
